Myron G. Burmaster, 81, of Caledonia, MN, passed away on November 4, 2012. He was born on February 4, 1931, to Martin and Annette (Johnson) Burmaster on Cabbage Ridge, near Eitzen, MN. Myron attended school in Black Hammer. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. from December 1951 to December 1953.
On January 31, 1959, he married Delores (Hosch) Becker. They operated several businesses throughout the years including the Spring Grove Hotel, the Coffee House and Myron and Delores Tavern.
Myron enjoyed attending auction sales, buying and selling restaurant and bar equipment, hunting, selling Christmas trees, attending various sportsman's banquets and church dinners, telling stories and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his six children: Henry (Stumpy)(Jackie) Becker of Rushford; Bonnie (Mark) Goetzinger of Caledonia; Mary (Linus) Hammell of Chatfield; Dorothy Schutz of Caledonia; Mark (Cari) Burmaster of Onalaska and Donna (Todd) Boutelle of Black Earth, WI; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; his sister Mardelle (Herbert) Staven; brothers-in-law Bob (Irene) Hosch and Darrel (Carol) Hosch; sisters-in-law Janene Hosch and Malita Raymond; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Lotus Vesterse.
Myron was preceded in death by his wife, Delores, his parents, his sister Norma Rollie, brothers-in-law Clayton Hosch and Harold Rollie and son-in-law Gary Schutz.
Visitation will be at Holy Family Hall, next to St. Mary's Church, Caledonia on Wednesday, November 7, from 4 to 7 pm, with a prayer service at 7 pm. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at church on Thurs.. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 8, at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caledonia, MN. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial with military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
Myron's family wishes to thank the staff of Caledonia Rehab Center and Mayo Franciscan Health Care for their care and kindness throughout his illness.
