OBITUARY

Ruby Adelaine Simonson was born on June 30, 1898 at Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Dr. George and Carrie Long Burleigh. At the age of two Ruby moved with her parents to Emerson, Neb. and later to Lane, SD. In 1909 they moved to Estelline, S. D. where she grew to womanhood. She graduated from Estelline High School and attended one year at South Dakota State College at Brookings. She was united in marriage to Henry P. Simonson on May 11, 1925 at Canton, S. D. They farmed near Estelline and in 1932 they moved to Minneapolis, Minn. where they lived for 12 years and then moved to Hayward, Wis. for three years. In 1947 they moved back to a farm near Estelline and in 1957 they moved into Estelline where she lived until her death. She was a resident of the Estelline Nursing and Care Center since January of 1979. She passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Watertown, S. D. on Tuesday morning, June 17, 1980, reaching the age of 81 years, 11 months and 17 days. She was a member of Fidelity Chapter No. 59 of Eastern Star in Estelline.

Mrs. Simonson is survived by her husband, Henry of Estelline; three daughters, (Margaret) Mrs. Verner Nystrom of Estelline, (Beverley) Mrs. Marvin Espeland of Pierre, SD and Mrs. Roberta Beem of Atlanta, GA; two sons, George Simonson of Omaha, Neb., and Stanley Simonson, who is in the Navy in San Diego, Calf.; nine grandchildren and one great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters and one granddaughter.
