She was born Sept. 19, 1950 in Columbus to Rubie (Holbein) and Lawrence Snowden. She attended Linden-McKinley High School and she attended universities in Germany and Kentucky before graduating from Ohio State University. She received her masters degree in computer science from Ohio State and was working on a masters in theology at The Pontifical Josephinum. She was employed by Shared Resources in Columbus as a computer programmer. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and previously St. Brendan in Dublin.
Alaria was a special woman who regardless of her circumstances accomplished what she set out to do making an inspirational testament of her life reflected in her sacrifice and love of her children and grandson.
She is survived by her beloved family, her mother, Rubie Garrison; two sons, Freddy (Jenifer) and Bryan Burks; one grandson, Andrew "Tweety Pie;" two brothers; one sister; one half-sister; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents; and several great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home, 32 W. Winter St., where a prayer vigil will be held at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 82 E. Winter St. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
