Alice Dorothy Burks, daughter of Hector and Eleanor Stiles Menard, was born January 12, 1931, in Springfield, Massachusetts. She departed this life Thursday, February 9, 2006, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, and twenty-seven days.
She was united in marriage to Elmer Hutchinson in 1949, and to this union five daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer, in 1964; and an infant daughter, Eleanor Alice.
Alice is survived by four daughters, Darlene Morris, of Mansfield, Missouri, Patricia Duncan, of Lewisport, Kentucky, Aline Faulconer, and Betty Elizabeth Knutson, both of the State of Montana; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Bourbeau, of San Jose, California; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Massachusetts and then moved to Mansfield in May of 1965. Besides being a devoted homemaker to her family, Alice also worked for the H. D. Lee Company for several years.
Alice made her profession of faith in Christ in February of 1966. She was a member of New Life Family Worship Center in Mansfield, where she enjoyed many hours of worship and fellowship.
In her spare time she volunteered to sew for the Crisis Center, and greatly enjoyed feeding and watching birds. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Alice was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments, and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, February 12, 2006, in the New Life Family Worship Center. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield, Missouri.
