Abbie Burkett Brinn, 77, of Edgewater, died Wednesday at home after a battle with cancer.
Born in Lewiston, N.C., Mrs. Brinn came to this area in 1989 from Richmond, Va.
Mrs. Brinn was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Smyrna Beach, where she was active with the Joy Class.
She enjoyed reading her bible and sewing.
Survivors include four children, James Brinn II and wife, Jo, and David Brinn and wife, Susan, all of Tennessee, Gayle Woodbury and husband, Ronnie, and Kristin Pisani and husband, Scott, all of Florida; their father, James Brinn Sr., of Florida; a brother, Aubrey Burkett and wife, Tony, of North Carolina; 3 sisters, Jo An Burton and husband, Ed, of West Virginia, Faye Coltrain and husband, Eddie, of North Carolina, and Dot Hoggard and husband, Don, of Maryland; and eight grandchildren.
