MILLINOCKET -- Arlene A. Burke, 73, died on February 7, 2004. She was born on April 22, 1930, the daughter of Edward and Norma (Chambers) Dishon.
A longtime Millinocket resident, Arlene was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, and a member of Little Flower Circle No. 392, as well as the Daughters of Isabella. She made rosary beads with Our Lady's Rosary Makers.
Arlene was also a member of the AARP and American Legion Post No. 80 Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William P. Burke, Jr.; a daughter, Susan, and her husband, Arthur York; two sons: William P. Burke III and Michael Burke, all of Millijocket; three grandchildren: William Burke IV, Rachael Jandreau, and John Burke; three great-grandchildren: Bradley Sabine, Tristan Burke, and Rebecca Jandreau; two brothers, Alton Dishon and Robert Dishon, both of East Millinocket; as well as several nephews and nieces.
Arlene was predeceased by a son, Roy Burke; a grandson, Thomas York; two brothers, Conrad and Edward; and a sister, Gladys Austin.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home in Millinocket. The Daughters of Isabella will recite the rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2004, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Spring burial will be in Millinocket Cemetery.
