Billie Joelene Burke Boyette, 65, of Savannah Georgia, wife, mother, and retired nurse, died Saturday evening, February 11th 2006, after an extremely sudden illness. Joelene was surrounded by her husband and sons at the time of her passing. Mrs. Boyette was born June 12th 1940 in Brunswick, Georgia to Willie S. Burke and Colene Estelle Crapps Burke. She attended the public schools in Brunswick, and in Greeley, Colorado. Mrs. Boyette graduated from Glynn Academy in Brunswick, and then enrolled in St. Joseph's School of Nursing and graduated in 1961. "Jo" as she was affectionately called, began her lifelong nursing career at St. Josephs Hospital working in a variety of settings, focusing on neurointensivecare, and utilization review. She retired from Kemira as an Occupational Health Nurse in the mid 1990's. Joelene was a very active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension. She was past president of the Lutheran Church Women, a member of the Rebecca Derrick Circle, BSF Bible Study, and on several other committees. Joelene was a very active member of her church. She loved all of the lifelong Christian friends that have been so comforting to her family. Joelene leaves behind her loving husband, William Larry Boyette, Sr.; sons, William Larry "Bubba" Boyette, Jr.; and Christopher Barry Boyette; and her precious grandsons, Sawyer Crews Boyette, and Caden Riggs Boyette. She is also survived by her 93 year old father, W.S. Burke, who has been a joy of her entire life; her older sister, Martha Ann Ginter, and her husband, Duane Ginter, and their children and extended family. Joelene's brother and sister in- law, Linda will also miss Joelene very much. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home. Funeral Services: 2 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2006 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension, 120 Bull Street, with Rev. William H. Roen, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Remembrances: may be sent to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension, 120 Bull St, Savannah, Ga 31401. Hubert C.
