Mrs. Mary Burke Halloran
Mrs. Mary Burke Halloran, 92, of 471 Washington street, widow of Thomas Halloran, died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Foley of Hartford, after a four-weeks' illness. Born in County Clare, Ireland she was the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Long Burke. She was married in Ireland and came to this city where she resided for about 50 years. She was one of the oldest parishioners of St. John's church and was also a member of the Catholic Legion of Middletown. She leaves three sons, Michael Halloran of Hartford, Policeman Edward Halloran of Hartford and Thomas Halloran of Detroit; four daughters, Mrs. Charles Dickson of Randolph, New Hampshire, Mrs. Mae Strausbaugh of Detroit, Mrs. Foley of Hartford and Mrs. James Dunn of this city; one brother and one sister in Ireland.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. at her late home followed by a solemn high mass of requiem at St. John's church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in the family plot in St. John's cemetery.
