Died at her son's residence in Brookfield, CT following a short illness. Born in Grafton, Ohio and lived in Lagrange, Elyria, and Vermilion and has been a Lorain resident since 1996. She was a manager at the former Lawson's Store in Vermilion for 14 years, retiring in 1978. She also was a manager and owned with her late husband Robert, Burke's Sohio gas station in Vermilion for 16 years. Marian was a member of St. Mary Church of Vermilion and belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society. She also attended Church of St. Peter in Lorain. She was a member of the Golden Agers, and a life member of V.F.W. Post 7576 and Amvets Post 22, all in Vermilion. She enjoyed reading and loved to travel. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Susan Burke of Brookfield, Ct. and son Jerome Burke of Marion, Ohio. 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and sister Anna Miller of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. in 1980, parents Frank and Hattie(Glowiski)Tarnowski and brother Anthony.
