MARCUM, DOROTHY BURKE 89, of the Williams Creek community in Oneida, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at the Scott County Hospital. She was born in Scott County on May 28, 1912. and was the daughter of the late WILL HADEN and MINNIE WEST BURKE. She attended Pine Creek Baptist Church and Little Charity Church of God in Oneida. She also was preceded in death by her husband, WOODROW MARCUM; a son, MILFORD MARCUM; daughter, KIZZIE SHARP; one grandson, GLENN MARCUM; two granddaughters, SHEILA MARCUM and PAMELA REYNOLDS; five brothers: MITCHELL BURKE, OVIA BURKE, ESTER BURKE, T. L. BURKE and LEWIS BURKE; and infant brothers, ANDREW and ROBERT. She is survived by her children: MARION MARCUM; WINNIE JUSTICE and husband, ARNOLD; FRANK MARCUM and wife, WYVONDA; BURKEY MARCUM and wife, ADA; and WILLARD MARCUM; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; special sister, ALCIE HAMBY; half-sisters: CONNIE TERRY, LIZZIE BOYATT and MINDA HAMON; brothers: JESSIE BURKE, LESTER BURKE, J. D. BURKE, HOWARD BURKE and CRESTON BURKE; special sisters-in-law, DOROTHY BURKE and BERNICE BURKE; and many other relatives. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon in the Chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Rev. GARY MARCUM and Rev. STEVE MARCUM officiating. Music was provided by the Gospel Trio.
