Obit - Freeport Journal-Standard Freeport Il 12-20-1941 pg 10 Orangeville, Ill., Dec. 20—David E. Burington, 79, passed away Friday afternoon at his home in Browntown, Wis., following a brief illness. He was born in Crawford county, Pennsylvania, July 4, 1862, the son of Reuben and Cordelia (Meachem) Burington, and when a child moved with his parents to Browntown. He resided at Browntown all his life except for a period of about ten years spent at Gratiot, Wis. He is survived by four sons, Charles Burington of Orangeville, Dr. Irwin O. Burington of South St. Paul, Minn.; Norris of Bellview, N. J.; and Theron of Beloit, Wis.; two daughters, Mrs. George Haussman of Galesburg; and Mrs. Frank Rohde of Winslow; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Burington was a member of the Masonic fraternity at South Wayne, Wis., and of the Browntown Methodist church. For a period of forty-five years he was maintenance man on the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific railroad at Browntown. Funeral services are to be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Burington funeral home at Orangeville, and at 1:30 o'clock in the Methodist church at Browntown. Rev. Lois E. McKeown, of the Orangeville Methodist church, and Rev. John James, of the Browntown Methodist church, will officiate and burial will be made in the Saucerman cemetery in Cadiz township, Green county, Wisconsin.
