Claron D. Burgon
A caring friend, devoted father and loving husband, Claron D. Burgon, 54, died at home February 25, 1998, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Claron was born in Murray, Utah on March 18, 1943 to Harold Albert and Phyllis Barker Burgon. He married his childhood sweetheart, Sheryl Johanson on July 28, 1967 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
After graduating from Jordan High, he served an LDS mission in the Central German Mission. He attended the University of Utah, where he served as president of the A'Cappella Choir. He received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. He enjoyed his careers as an engineer at Hercules and as a systems analyst at Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield , where he was employed at the time of his passing.
An active member of the LDS Church, Claron held several positions including teacher, scout leader, stake clerk and member of the bishopric. He shared his love of music by using his beautiful tenor voice. He currently was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
His interests include his family, reading, Christmas, family history, writing, golf, photography and classical music.
Claron is survived by his wife; children, Heidi B. (Joe) Goodsell, Tempe, AZ; Brannon, Holli, Braden, and Haylie, Sandy; two grandsons, Steven and Dallin, Tempe, AZ; siblings, Kaye (Jeannine) Burgon, Silverdale, WA; Connie (Allyn) Mahoney; VeNae (Arland) Larsen, both of Salt Lake; Kelby (Lorraine) Burgon, West Jordan; Bernell Burgon, Sandy; brother and sister in-law Leland and Denece Ford, Salt Lake; cherished nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 1998, 11 a.m. at the Cottonwood Creek Stake Center, 1535 E. Creek Road (7830 South). Friends may call at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 South) Friday, February 27, 1998 from 6-8 p.m. and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to service at the church. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 941 East 3300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
