Albert (Pete) Burgin, 1913-1983
Albert (Pete Burgin, 69, R.R. 1, Palo, a resident of Palo, Ia., for 32 years, formerly of Milford, died Monday, Aug. 1, 1983, at St. Lukes Hospital, S.C., following a brief illness. Born Dec. 10, 1913, in Hannibal, Wis., he was married to Donna Wells in Anamosa. Burgin was employed by Wilson Foods for 27 years prior to his retirement in 1975. He was a member of the Church at Covington and served in the Air Force during W.W.II.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Robert of Cedar Rapids, Jerry of Hiawatha and Steven of Palo; a daughter, Terry Sanders of Palo; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Waddle of Marion and Bessie Hatt, of California; a brother, Henry, from Spirit lake and nine grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, Aug. 4, 1983, at 11:30 in the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids with Pastor Mary Hay and Rev. Tom Miskimen, both of Church of Covington officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home after 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Military services by American Legion Hanford Post No. 5.
Friends may, if they wish, donate to the Iowa Association for Retarded Citizens, 1707 High St., Des Moines, Ia., or the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 2025 East River Rd., Minneapolis, Minn., 55414 of to a memorial fund at Church of Covington. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
