Edgewood, Ia. -- Lester O. Burgin, 66, of Dundee, died at his home in Dundee Monday after a long illness. The body was brought to the Rhines Funeral Home in Edgewood, where it will remain until Wednesday night, when it will be taken to the family home at Dundee. Services will be at the family home Thursday afternoon a 2 o'clock with the Rev. Parke Anderson of Strawberry Point, officiating. Burial will be in the Edgewood Cemetery.
Lester O. Burgin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Uri Burgin, was born near Edgewood on Jan. 6, 1881, and spent his boyhood and early manhoood in this community. He spent the last 30 years in the Dundee community. He was a retired farmer and stockbuyer.
Mr. Burgin is survived by his wife, Nettie Hamlett Burgin; two sons, Eldon and Gordon Hamlett (sic), both of Dundee; two brothers, Bert, of Edgewood, and Jesse; and five sisters, Mrs. Bert (Ida) Stevens, Mrs. Harvey (Ada) Andrews, Mrs. Levi (Grace) Lee, Mrs. Alta Holroyd and Mrs. Minnie Andrews. One brother, Harlie, preceeded him.
