Mrs. Amelia Burghart, 81, died Friday night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Sommers, 533 Sardou, where she had been staying recently. She suffered a cerebral hemorrhage serveral months earlier. Mrs. Burghart was born Dec. 25, 1889 at Kamenka, Russia, and lived in Topeka since 1912. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Altar Society at the church.

Survivors include two sons, Godfrey B. Burghart, 513 E. Gordon, and Jacob Burghart, 524 W. 5th; five other daughters, Mrs. Mollie Taylor, Santa Fe Springs, Calif., Mrs. Barbara Hotte, Bridport, Vt., Mrs. Rose Rohr, 326 Watson, Mrs. Helen Streeter, 406 Norwood, and Mrs. Mary Ann Schmidt, 521 Sardou; 50 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Brennan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
