LEVANT and BANGOR - Anna M. Bart, 95, died April 22, 2010, surrounded by her three children at a Brewer health care facility, after a period of declining health. She was born Dec. 10, 1914, in Bangor, the daughter of Elias and Margaret (Cheverie) Burgess. She was the oldest of 13 children. She enjoyed ballroom dancing in her earlier years, and toured in the United States and Canada as a professional dancer. Anna was part of a group of Patriots, including her sisters, who worked as aircraft mechanics in Connecticut for the U.S. government during World War II. She enjoyed going to her grandchildren's athletic events and was very active in Our Lady of Wisdom Prayer Group of Bangor, where she made many friends and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Bangor.
Anna was predeceased by baby Joseph; baby Jean; and her brothers, Charles, Richard, Ernest and Fidalis.
She is survived by her son, William Bart of Levant; two daughters, Marianne Grifasi-Miller and her husband, Kevin Miller, of Bangor and Valerie Dyer of Brewer; her son-in-law, Robert Dyer of Bangor; one brother, Lindy Burgess of Hermon; five sisters, Geneva Green of Hermon, Lucille Cowallis of Bangor, Aileen Sequino of Bangor, Joan Orcutt of Eddington and Shirley Hurry of Florida; nine grandchildren, Sam and Marisa Grifasi, Lyndsey Dyer, Amber Williams, Justin and Luke Dyer, Billy and Nolan Bart, and Forrest Miller; three great-grandchildren, Ariana, Makayla and Bradon; three special friends, Paula Mooney, Marilyn McCourt and Lisa Miller, who maintained a close personal relationship with Anna until the end.
Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. (Bangor Daily News 4/24/2010)
