MASON CITY — Lois Pearl Andersen, 85, formerly of 1306 S. Mass. Ave., Mason City, died Tuesday (Feb. 10, 1998) at Good Shepherd Health Care Center, Mason City.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, with the Rev. Randy Nielsen, pastor at Good Shepherd Healthcare Center, officiating.
Visitation will begin after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., until the time of the graveside service.
Lois Pearl Andersen was born June 13, 1912, in St. Paul, Minn., daughter of Steven and Grace (Beebe) Burgess.
She married Lars Peter Andersen on July 12, 1948, in Park Rapids, Minn.
Lois went to school in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School in 1931. She worked at various jobs in Mason City until retiring in 1962.
Lois enjoyed fishing, traveling and was an avid reader. Lois appreciated the care she received from Amicare and Good Shepherd caretakers.
Survivors include seven sisters-in-law, Grace Burgess, Philadelphia, Pa.; Lily Imlay, Clear Lake; Betty Hard, Titonka; Ruth Andersen, Big Stone City, S.D.; Marian Andersen, Mason City; Beulah Andersen, Clear Lake; and Rose Andersen, Mason City; one brother-in-law, Ernest Andersen and his wife, Marion, Mason City; three nephews, Steven Burgess, Pensacola, Fla.; Robert Burgess, Philadelphia, Pa.; and Frank Burgess, Aston, Pa.; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Norman Burgess; and a stepson, Richard Andersen.
