Mary Ann Elizabeth BURGESS married Osborn BAKER. She is named as "Polly Ann 32 F W Keeping House" with Osborn BAKER in the 1870 census of Brooks County, Georgia.

Mary A. Baker of Thomas County, Georgia, widow of Osborn Baker, Co. "C" 61 Ga Regt, signed her Widow's Indigent Pension application on 30 May 1908. She attested that she was born Feby 23" 1835 in Dooly Co., Ga. and that her husband Osborn Baker was born Mch 10" 1830 in Laurens County, Ga. He enlisted on May 9" 1862 in Tallokas Co., Ga. in co. "C" 61st Regt Ga Volunteers and served until the surrender in 1865 and was at home on sick furlough at the time of the surrender. He died on Feby 23" 1907. Mary cited "Age + Poverty" as cause for her application. It was attested by J. A. Sherrod of Pavo, Thomas County, Georgia, who said he had known Mrs. Baker for fifty years or more and that Osborn Baker had married Mary A. Burgess on 20 Nov 1850. He further stated that Osborn had left his command in March 1865 at Petersburg, Va. The application package contains a copy of the Osbourn Baker and Mary Ann Burgess' marriage license issued in Sumter County, Georgia, dated 20 November 1850, which certifies their marriage on 21 November 1852 by Elijah Clark, J. P.
