Final rites will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Sheetz funeral home, Akron, for Elmer BURDGE, 95, Akron, who died Friday at 1:05 p.m. in Wabash county hospital. The Revs. Dan BENGSTON and Claude FAWNS will officiate. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday and until services Monday.
Born Oct. 25, 1874, in Fulton county, he was the son of Anthony and Liza WARE BURDGE. His marriage was March 13, 1902, in Otterbein, Ind., to Sarah DILTS, who died in 1961. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Akron United Methodist church, the Akron Masonic lodge and the Indiana Farm Bureau.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Martha) FLACK, Roann; one sister, Mrs. Earl WILSON, Rochester; five grandchildren, Ross BURDGE, Akron; Mrs. Richard DOUB, Tennessee; Mrs. Eldon BAKER, Monterey, Cal; Jim FLACK, Wabash, and Steve FLACK, Converse, and ten great-grandchildren. Two sons, Harry and George BURDGE, and two brothers preceded in death.
