Son of Richard and Asena Burdge. George's first wife was Sarah Starkey. They were married 5 April 1872 and had one child Laura born in 1873, but she died at 3 months of age. Sarah died 2 years later. He then married Georgiana Hester of Greene county and had four more childred: Fannie Ella, Cynthia Maude, James Perry, and Connie Evaline.
