Adam W. Burd, 83, of Denver, died Thursday morning in Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Reinholds, he was a son of the late Henry A. and Emma (Hartman) Burd. He and his wife Annabelle (Wagner) celebrated their 54th anniversary on July 4. Surviving are their children; Roy W. husband of Sandy of Reamstown, Kathleen A. wife of Darrell Marks of Stevens, and Adam W. Jr. husband of Tammy of Schoeneck; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. Adam was preceded in death by 4 sisters. A plasterer and drywaller, Adam worked at Flying Hills retiring in 1986. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Denver, and a Life Member of Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed birdwathching, woodcarving and fishing. A Veteran of World War II, Adam served in the United States Army, receiving 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. Viewing Tuesday, 10-11am, Funeral 11:00am in the Roseboro Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St. Denver, with Rev. Dori Wilcox Herman officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Denver with Military Honors accorded by the Red Rose Honor Guard.
