Delphia C. Burcham, 58, of Prophetstown, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at OSF St. Anthony's Medical Center, Rockford, IL giving the gift of life by being an organ donor.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3rd, at the Sheffield Cemetery, Sheffield, IL. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sheffield Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 339 E. Chestnut St., Sheffield, IL. Memorials may be made to her family.
The former Delphia Hale was born November 1, 1948 in Lebanon, Kentucky, the daughter of Charles and Lucille Lanham Hale. Her marriage to John Burcham took place on March 12, 1976 in Princeton, IL. Delphia worked as a nurse's aid at Coventry Village in Sterling, IL. She had also worked at other nursing homes and in private residences. Delphia loved gardening, helping others, and spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and her sister Liz.
Survivors include her husband, John, three children, Jim Smith, Linda O'Neal, Lorie Silva, two stepchildren, Gary Burcham, Angie Ince, 15 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Elizabeth Hale, and four brothers, Melvin, John, Bill, and Eddie Hale. Her parents and a brother Shelby preceded her in death.
