BELLINGHAM Philip C. Burch, 66, of Bellingham passed away March 20, 2008, in Milford Regional Medical Center, after being stricken at home.
He was the beloved husband of 47 years of Isabel C. (Ward) Burch.
Mr. and Mrs. Burch were married June 18, 1960.
He was born in Cincinnatti, Ohio, July 20, 1941, son of Doris Mae (Cook) Burch of Hamilton, Ohio, and the late Gregory B. Burch. He was the loving father of Josiah P. and his wife, Jane Burch, of Douglas, Christopher P. and his wife, Wendy Burch, of Woonsocket, R.I., Cynthia S. and her husband, Stephen Karagosian, of Whitinsville and Pamela J. Burch and her fiance, Jeffrey D. Stoddard, both of Mendon; and six grandchildren. He was a brother of Clinton Burch, Craig Burch and Janice Chism, all of Hamilton, Ohio.
He was a resident of Bellingham for 41 years, formerly of Milford, Cincinnatti, Ohio, and Caribou, Maine, where he was raised. He worked as a foreman and heavy equipment and marine engine mechanic for Southworth-Milton Cat Power Systems Co. in Milford for 34 years, retiring in December 2005, and previously was a foreman at Fenwal. Mr. Burch was also a real estate agent for Austin Realty of Medway and Devitt Realty of Bellingham. He was a member of the Maspenock Rod & Gun Club, Milford, and a lifetime member of the NRA and a director on the Worcester County League of Fish and Wildlife. Mr. Burch was an assistant scout master of Troop 120, Bellingham.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, 10 a.m., in CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 South Main St. (Rte. 126), Bellingham.
Interment will be in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
Visiting hours are today, 5 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
