Obituary submitted by F/G submitter Kathryn Hill (#47225156)
"On the 22d of September occurred the marriage of Mr. James D. Ball and Miss Carrie Bunyan, and on the same day they started on their wedding trip with bright and happy prospects. While visiting at the home of Mr. Ball's brother in Wilmington, Delaware, Mrs. Ball was stricken with fever. All that human agency could do was done, but on Tuesday morning, Nov. 1st, only six weeks from the
time she stood at the altar a happy bride, her spirit took its departure. Truly this is a sad and sudden ending of what promised to be a happy union. Mrs. Ball was a lady of kind and lovable disposition, and was beloved by all who knew her.
The remains were brought here on Wednesday and on Thursday the funeral services were held at the same church, it being the same day of the week and the same hour of the day as were those of the wedding ceremony just six weeks previous, the young men who were ushers at the wedding acting as bearers at the funeral.
The heartfelt sympathies of this community are with the afflicted husband and parents."
