FRED A. BUMP
Fred A. Bump, native of Pownal, died Thursday at the age of 59 at the Vermont Veterans' Home where he had resided for the past 12 years.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 am Saturday at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Floyd I. La Bombard, pastor of the First Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the family plot, Park Lawn Cemetery, Bennington.
Born Feb 3, 1917 to Thomas and Martha (Ebert) Bump, he received his education in Pownal schools and at Williamstown, Mass. High School, and was an Army medic during World War II.
Before the war he was a cemetery worker at Oak Hill Cemetery, Pownal, and an employee of the Pownal Tanning Co. He later worked for the Cornish Wire Co. in Williamstown.
He leaves two brothers, Stanley and Kenneth, both of Williamstown, a sister, Beulah Gardner of Pownal Center, nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
