MRS. FRED BUMP
Mrs. Fred Bump, 70, of Chapel Road died this morning at 4 o'clock at Putnam Memorial Hospital. She was the former Marian Bates and had resided in the White Chapel district for around 30 years.
Born in Shaftsbury March 9, 1884, she had received her education in the schools in that town. Mr. Bump died 19 years ago Feb. 26. During her long residence in the county, she had made many friends.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Julia Harrington of Bennington and Mrs. Raymond Gates of Shaftsbury; two sons, Carl and Elijah Bump of Bennington; one brother, Ernest Bates of East Arlington; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held from Mahar Funeral Home Saturday at 2 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Entombment will be in Park Lawn Vault. Burial will be in Center Shaftsbury in the spring.
