May E. Caprino, age 90, of Marion, died early Monday morning, July 2, 2007, at Bucyrus Community Hospital.

She was born July 7, 1916, in Thompson Township in Delaware, the daughter of the late Wattie and Chole Kalb Bumgartner.

May graduated from Prospect High School in the Class of 1934.

On Nov. 1, 1937, May married Anthony D. "Tony" Caprino. In their 58 years of marriage, they loved to be surrounded with family. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1986.
May worked as a clerk at J.C. Penney's for 30 years where she shared her outgoing personality until she retired in 1987. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ.

Family and friends always enjoyed visiting with May and her great sense of humor and witty nature will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Donald (Teresa) Caprino; two daughters, Gloria and Betty Caprino, all three of Marion; three grandchildren, Cheri Barlow, Julie (Ryan) Hamilton and Gretchen (Mark) Niswonger; five great-grandchildren, Zachary, Benjamin and Nicholas Hamilton, Megan and Mary Barlow; niece Tyna Sue Dingledine; nephew Robert Bumgartner; and two cousins, John (Eva Lou) Kalb and George Kalb. Including her parents and husband, May was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Lieb.
