Her parents were Gertrude and Samuel Bullington. Thelma was raised in Talmage, Kansas. Thelma was raised with two siblings. She had one brother, Curtis, and one sister, Doris. Thelma was constantly involved in activities with her brothers and sisters. In her spare time she liked cooking, crocheting, embroidery, and tending to family. Thelma was blessed with one child; a daughter, Mary Ellen. They were also blessed with one grandchild, Janet Aileen Bangs.
Her primary occupation was as an LVN. She was employed for 15 years by the Eldercare Convalescent Hospital. Her favorite pursuits were crocheting, embroidery, cooking, and tending to family. She would watch her favorite sporting events whenever she got the opportunity. Tops on her list was baseball, particularly Dodgers games.
Thelma was a member of the Church of the Open Door. During that time, she tithed 10% to her church monthly, while also giving to other charities. She was a sympathetic woman who valued her beliefs and was willing to work tirelessly for them.
Favorite vacations included road trips through the U.S. When Thelma's retirement finally arrived in 1979, she was well prepared. Her new life involved relocating to Glendora. In retirement, she found new pleasure in spending time with family and reading. Even in retirement, Thelma continued to stay in touch with her old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. She was active in her new community and felt fulfilled.
Thelma L. Bebermeyer passed away on March 28, 2009 at Emeritus in San Dimas, California.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Richard Norris; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Janet and Michael Bangs; her sister, Doris Burke; and her great grandchildren, Riley and Ryan Bangs.
Services were held at Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora, California. Thelma was laid to rest in Oakdale Memorial Park.
