Dec 1, 1979 - Funeral services for Betty Henry, 57, of Humboldt, will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Lindhart Funeral Home, with Dr. Ralph Kitterman officiating, followed by cremation. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday.
Mrs. Henry died at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Thursday evening following a lengthy illness.
She is survived by a son, Joseph P. Henry III, of Chicago, IL.; daughters, Pat Henry of Chicago, and Barbara Henry of Charleston, WV.; and an uncle, Don Gehring of Humboldt.
Betty Buel was born Nov 27, 1922, at Minot, ND to G.T. and Ilene Gehring Buel. She graduated from Humboldt High School and attended college at Lindanwood College at St. Louis, MO., and also the University of Iowa.
She married Joseph P. Henry and the couple lived in Charleston, WV. Mrs. Henry served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She returned to Humboldt in 1969 and has been in ill health the past 23 years with multiple sclerosis. She was a resident of the North Care Center. The family requests that memorials be given to the MS Foundation.
