CUBA--- John A. Buffum, 68, Cuba, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Graham Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Hukill Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Spurgeon officiating.
Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday in the chapel.
Mr. Buffum was born April 29, 1903, in Putman Township, the son of Curtis and Effie (Wheeler) Buffum.
He is survived by three brothers, Ernest Buffum, of Wichita, Kan., Rollo Buffum and Carroll Buffum, both of Canton; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Huffman, of Bushnell, Mrs. Ruby Deakin of Cuba and Mrs. Marjorie Jones of Canton; and several nieces and nephews.
One sister and two brothers died earlier.

Personal Note: Uncle John lived at the home place of his parents on top of Big Creek Hill, three miles South of Cuba. He was married briefly and had no children of his own. Family lore says he dealt cards for Al Capone in Chicago in his younger years. LDH
