She was born June 1, 1956, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Hazel Urness Buehler. She graduated from East High School. She married Gerry Brackin on August 19, 1974. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2006.
She was employed at LensCrafters, Eye Care Pavilion, and Urbandale Eye Care as an optician and Wal-Mart as a bakery employee.
Survived by: a son, John Brackin (Megan West) of Des Moines; a daughter, Katrina Brackin of Pleasant Hill; two grandchildren, Delaney Brackin and Brayden Lindquist; two brothers, Ken (Kay) Buehler of Ferryville, WI, and Kevin Buehler of Waterloo; a sister, Shirley (Jim) Duffy of Nampa, ID; and a special friend, Donnie Voss of Nampa, ID.
Preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Hazel Buehler.
Services: A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, November 12 at 1pm at Linden United Methodist Church, 301 Butler Ave, Waterloo. The family will accept visitors until 4 pm.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. A memorial fund has been established at U.S. Bank.
