Derwin J. Buehler, 81, of Sheboygan Falls, died peacefully on Thursday afternoon, August 7, 2008 at Pine Haven Christian Home.
Derwin was born on July 18, 1927, in the Town of Lima, the son of the late Elmer and Johanna (Hopeman) Buehler.
On June 17, 1950, Derwin married the former Ruth Tempas in Hingham.
He was a dairy farmer in the Town of Lima for many years. During those years he was also a cattle buyer. In 1975 Derwin joined the Buehler Furniture Store in Sheboygan Falls where he worked until his retirement in 1997.
Derwin was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls where he served as a deacon and an elder. He was a member of the Sheboygan Falls Kiwanis Club. Derwin enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and traveling. Derwin and Ruth enjoyed many summers in St. Germain and wintering in Florida. Derwin's family, and especially his grandchildren, meant the world to him.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; three sons, Dennis (Chris) Buehler of Manitowoc, Jim (Lynn) Buehler and John (Connie) Buehler, both of Sheboygan Falls; one daughter, Jean Mersberger of Sheboygan Falls; a son-in-law, Larry (Jan) Wilterdink of Hingham; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and three brothers, Gordon (Betty) Buehler of Plymouth, Harold (Lois) Buehler and Howard (Bernice) Buehler, both of Sheboygan Falls.
Derwin was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Wilterdink.
