Ada B. Buehl
June 3, 1902 - July 17, 1980

Mrs. Ada B. Buehl, 78, Brodhead, died Thursday, July 17, in St. Clare Hospital, Monroe, where she had been a patient since June 13. She was the former Ada Barbara Legler, and was born in Monticello, on June 3, 1902, the daughter of David and Bertha Schlittler Legler. She attended Monticello schools and was graduated from the Green County Normal School, Monroe.
She taught rural schools in Green County until her marriage to William F. Buehl, on Nov. 16, 1921, in Monroe. They farmed in Mt. Pleasant Township, and later moved to an adjoining farm, where they retired. Her husband died Sept. 5, 1972, after which she moved to Brodhead, in 1973, residing there since.

She was a member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello, and Ladies Aid Society. Since residing in Brodhead, she had attended the Brodhead Congregational Church, and was a member of its Ruth Circle. She was also a member of the Brodhead Woman's Relief Corps.

Survivors are a son, William F. Buehl, Jefferson; two daughters: Mrs. Bertha Miller, Daly City, Calif., and Mrs. Walter (Gladys) Williams, rural Brodhead; one brother, Herman D. Legler, Monroe; two sisters: Mrs. Louse E. Freitag, New Glarus, and Mrs. Maude Hammerly, Albany; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday, July 20, in Zwingli United Church of Christ, with Rev. Charles Workman and Rev. Talmage Hartman, Janesville, officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Monticello.

Preceding her death were her husband; one brother, Joe R. Legler.

Pallbearers were grandsons: Mark A. Buehl, Oregon, Michael Miller, Alexandria, VA., Timothy Miller, Akron, OH., Douglas Williams, Bradley Williams, Jeffrey Williams and Joe Williams, all of Brodhead.

Voegeli Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
