Richard "Bud" F. Budzeck, 92, of Norwich entered into eternal life on Friday, February 1, 2013.

He was born December 12, 1920, in Norwich, a son to the late William and Pauline (Weinart) Budzeck. On September 10, 1947, he married Lorraine (Pepin) Budzeck. She predeceased him in 1990.

Bud served honorably in the United States Army, during WWII, and later worked and retired from the SNET Company. He was a life member of the Pachaug Outdoor Club, the VFW and the Sprague Rod and Gun Club.

Bud loved to shoot trap and distinguished himself as a champion trap shooter winning the 1984 CT State Championship, 1992 Grand American Champion-ship, 1997 RI Senior Veteran Championship, the 1999 RI Doubles Championship and numerous other competitions.

Bud is survived by his daughter Bonnie Hebert and husband Jay Hebert, son Glenn Budzeck and wife Andrea Luis, grandchildren Richard Budzeck of Vero Beach Florida and Christina Kullstroem of Norwich.

A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 11AM Tues, February 5, 2013, at the Pachaug Cemetery Route 138, Griswold, CT. There will be no calling hours.

The family invites everyone to a celebration of his life on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Pachaug Outdoor Club located at 178 Banjo Sullivan Rd in Griswold at 1:00 PM. The Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home, 490 Voluntown Road, Jewett City, CT has been entrusted with arrangements.
