Mary Brenda Elizabeth Alvey passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 22, 2023 at the age of 80. She was born and raised in Uniontown, KY, where she met and married William Robert Alvey Sr. The two of them were blessed with 4 beautiful children and many years of happiness.
Brenda was a devoted farming wife and mother and a member of St. Ann's Parish. When she wasn't busy being a fantastic mother and wife, she worked as a cook for Dairy Maid and Brandon's in Morganfield. She loved to make sure that every one of her customers left feeling "full as a tick"! Brenda was especially known for her sweet rolls!
In her retirement, Brenda's servant's heart continued to show through in her daily activities. Along with all of her church and community involvement, she enjoyed working at the Home Center, bingo with the ladies, picking up pecans, gardening and canning, coffee club cheering on the UK Wildcats and of course, cooking was her specialty.
Brenda made a lasting impact on everyone she met and she will be remembered as a caring, selfless, fun-loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Maude Buckman, her husband William Robert Alvey Sr., and her siblings Carolyn Girten, "Bucky" Buckman, Rose Floyd and Anne Marie Vowels.
Brenda's love will be carried on through her surviving family; Siblings David Buckman and Sylvia Franklin; Children Bobby (Valerie) Alvey Jr. of Waverly, KY, Barry (Christi) Alvey of Waverly, KY, Bonnie (Jerry) Knott of Hebbardsville, KY and Brad Alvey of Morganfield, KY; 5 grandsons; 6 great grandkids.
The Funeral service for Brenda will be 1PM Thursday, 10/26/2023 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield with burial to follow at St. Ann Cemetery.
