Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - July 5, 2000. Deceased Name: Obituary: Fredaricka Bucklin Beach. Together Again. Fredaricka Bucklin Beach joined her eternal companion on July 2, 2000. She passed away from leukemia at her home with family present. She was born in Blackfoot, Idaho on August 15, 1909 to Harry and Botilda Bosen Bucklin. Freda married LeRoy Andersen Beach on January 17, 1927 in Santa Ana, CA. They later were sealed in the Provo Temple. He died on May 30, 1994. She spent her childhood in Idaho and most of her married life in Burbank, CA, where Roy worked for the movie studios. She excelled in everything she did. She was an exceptional seamstress, knitted and crocheted, made silver jewelry, did upholstery, and ceramics. Her hats are treasures. She was a busy housewife and mother, but during the war years, joined thousands of women in the war industry. She was "Rosie the riveter" and helped build B-17 bombers for several years. When the family moved to Utah in 1989, she was in her 80's. She began making porcelain dolls. She made them for friends, and one for each grand and great-granddaughter, and for her daughters-in-law. She was an active member of the LDS Church and was honored recently by her relief society. She was a member of the DAR and many other historical societies. She was an outstanding genealogist. She always looked beautiful and loved it when people would not believe her real age. She had many serious illnesses, which she endured without complaint. She was truly loved by her family and was always kind and generous to them. On her 90th birthday, her entire family came from many states to honor her. She loved her family very much. She was truly a wonderful mother and grandmother who never forgot a birthday or Christmas. She leaves many wonderful memories for us, her family.
She is survived by her three sons: Roy (Diane) of South Jordan, Utah; Ted (Marcia) of Springville, Utah and Fred of Springville, Utah. There are 12 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thurs. July 6, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 So., Springville, UT. Friends may call Wed. from 6-8 p.m. or one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Burial, Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills on Tues., July 11, 2000 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Cancer Society.
