Mrs. Walter Allen died of consumption on Thursday, June 5, 1902 at the home of her brother Warren Bucklin, in Lawrenceville.
She had been great sufferer for several years with the dread disease, which finally terminated in her death. She had been feeling brighter for the last few days and was anxious to visit her brother in Lawrence. He came for her the Sunday previous to her death. She seemed no worse until a few hours before her death. Mrs. Allen was 33 years of age, and was the daughter of Henry Bucklin of this place. A husband and three young daughters survive her, the oldest being 14 years old and the youngest about two years old.
The funeral was held from the Christian Church on Saturday, Rev. R. E. Andrew officiating. The W. R. C. of which she was a member attended the funeral.
Burial was in Sunnyside cemetery in Brushton.
