Services are planned Monday for Frank M. "Buckie" Buckley, 77, of Fife Coal Road, Wellsville, Ohio, who died Friday morning at the City Hospital following a one week illness.
He was born in East Liverpool Dec. 5, 1909, a son of the late Seldon M. Buckley and Alice Rough Buckley.
Mr. Buckley was an inspector in the conditioning department 23 years at the former Crucible Steel Company, before retiring in 1975. He had graduated from the Wellsville High School in 1927, and served with the 272 Field Artillery Battalion of the U.S. Army during World War II. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal and the European, African and Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four bronze stars.
He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church and an honorary member of the Glass, Pottery, Plastics and Allied Workers International Union.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Virginia Drane Buckley, whom he married Aug 6, 1941; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Susan) Heaton of Wellsville; a brother, William Buckley of Brewster, New York and four grandchildren.
The Rev. Dr. Duane Hetzer is to conduct the services at 2 p.m. at the Martin Funeral home.
Burial is to be in riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call the funeral home Sunday afternoon and evening.
