Beverly Louise Durham Buckles, 83, of Bristol, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at her home. She was the daughter of the late Sherman and Narcie Durham, and was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Paul Buckles; a sister, Joann Hagy Leonard; and a brother, "Jack" David Henry Durham. Survivors include her daughter, Tina Marie Buckles of Knoxville, Tenn.; one son, Rick Buckles and wife, Marcy of Piney Flats, Tenn.; close family friend, Margaret Breeding of Knoxville, Tenn.; two grandsons, Michael Buckles and wife, Hannah, and Matthew Buckles and wife, Nicole all of Piney Flats, Tenn.; three great-grandchildren, Korie Elizabeth, Carter Dean, and Brooklyn Michelle; a sister-in-law, Peggy McGlothlin Durham of Tampa, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Beverly graduated from Wallace High School as Saluatorian, and was a retiree of Sperry/Univac. She was a longstanding member of Avoca Christian Church. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Betty Worley, Karla Brooks, Pat Baber and most importantly Rachael and Beovie Baber for their loving care and to Amedysis Hospice for their skill and comfort. The funeral service will be conducted 7 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Robinson, Minister, and Bobby Shelley, Minister. Pallbearers will be Wayne McCall, Jimmy Mcall, Charlie Warren, Michael Warren, Johnny Durham, and J.J. Durham. The committal service and interment will be conducted 11 a.m., Friday, December 6, 2013, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:45 p.m., Thursday prior to the funeral service.
