* BUCK BUCKINGHAM OBITUARY *
Dedication and a loving commitment to his family was the foundation upon which Byron Richard Buckingham built his life. So it is with great sadness that his wife, Teresa, and two youngest daughters, Dominique and Gabrielle, who are still at home, face a future without him. Buck passed away April 27, 2009, at the Hospice Care Center. Loved ones also left behind are a son, Bryan; a daughter, Julie; two sisters, Bubbles Buckingham and Beverly Minkler (Keith); four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Cecilia and Ted LaVigne.
He was born to Jess and Elsie (Splichal) Buckingham July 24, 1947.
Buck served in the Navy aboard the Kittyhawk during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he spent his entire working life in the maritime industry. For 25 years he worked for Crowley Marine Services and at the time of his passing, he was a chief engineer for Dunlap Towing. Buck was a member of the Inland Boatman's Union.
He married Teresa (Stratton) Jan. 14, 1995, in Everett.
A celebration of Buck's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made in Buck's name to the Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632 or Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research, P.O. Box 19024, Seattle, WA 98109.
