Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Duease "Punk" Bragg at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at a graveside service being held at Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home in Lubbock.

Ms. Bragg passed away on April 8, 2011 in Anaheim, CA where a celebration service was held in her honor on April 11 at Melrose Abbey Memorial Park.

An only child, she was born on November 20, 1926 to Eulis Dewitt & Lottie Vivian (Barnes) Buck in Temple, TX. She graduated from Lubbock High School on May 21, 1945 and then at 18 traveled alone by train to marry George Robert Bragg, Jr. on June 16, 1945 in Modesto, CA. where he was serving in the U.S. Navy. They returned to Lubbock in 1946 where they resided until 1953 when they relocated to Muleshoe, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her beloved husband George on March 7, 1967.

A strong, independent woman, Punk was a very special lady with an infectious smile. She loved her family, her friends and life in general and reflected a zest for life that was noticed by all, regardless of age. To know her truly was to love her because of her bright, optimistic and fun outlook on life. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

Her loving survivors are three children: Karran Martin of North Richland Hills, TX; Randy "Sonny" Bragg of Orange, CA; and, Steve Bragg of Irvine, CA. Four grandchildren: Melisa Martin Livingston of Denver, CO; Jeremy Martin of North Richland Hills, TX; Chris Bragg of Costa Mesa, CA; and, Ashley Bragg of Los Angeles, CA. One great grandchild: Andrew Martin of Cypress, CA. Also, her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Bragg of Orange, CA and her son-in-law, Eric Lord of Irvine, CA.

If you desire to honor her life, the family suggests you consider a donation to the American Lung Association, or the charity of your choice.
