Louise Buck Aldridge
March 13, 1930 ~ January 2, 2024 (age 93)

Louise Buck Aldridge, 93, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Twin Lakes Community in Burlington, NC.

Louise was born on March 30, 1930 to the late John Herbert Buck and Lelia Williamson Buck. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hulen Wilson Aldridge, with whom she celebrated 64 years of marriage prior to his passing. Also preceding Louise was her brother, John Herbert Buck, Jr. and her son, Gary Kent Aldridge.

She worked for G. W. Apple & Sons grocery store in Reidsville, NC for 23 years. After leaving this job, she nursed her mother for five years. She then attended beauty school in Danville, Va earning her Cosmetologist License and opened Waverly Beauty Salon in her home in 1978 and retired after 17 years. Louise was an active member of Locust Hill United Methodist Church for 80 years. She was devoted to her church and loved her church family. She was in the choir, made floral arrangements for church services, assisted with the church theme dinners and was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service.

Louise was a member of the Caswell Horticulture Club and the Home Demonstration Club. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels, the Yanceyville Hoe Down and Relay for Life with the American Cancer Society for many years.

Left to cherish Louise's memory are her daughter, Kay Pryce (Andrew); her grandson, Jon Shrieves, Jr. (Amanda); granddaughter, Kristin Bonoyer; her great grandchildren, Wyatt Shrieves, David Shrieves, Clara Shrieves, and Madison Czerepak; and many special nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses, aides, physicians, and staff at Twin Lakes for their years of devoted medical care and friendship. Special friends and neighbors, the Barts girls who she dearly loved.

Visitation with the family in celebration of Louise's life will be held at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home, 306 Glenwood Avenue, Burlington, NC 27215, at 1:30 P.M. prior to the service at 3 P.M. on Sunday, January 7, 2024, and at other times at her daughter's home in Whitsett, NC.

Interment will be at Locust Hill United Methodist Church, 289 Stoney Creek School Road, Reidsville, NC.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Locust Hill United Methodist Church, The American Cancer Society, or The Salvation Army.
