Carl D. Buchholz, 92, Fergus Falls Route 3, died Monday, July 1 at home in Aurdal Township.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls Route 3. Rev. Daniel Dierks will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

One of 10 children of Wilhelm and Johanna (Meyer) Buchholz, he was born Feb. 2, 1893, in Friberg Township. He grew up in Friberg Township and was baptized and confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church.

After his marriage to Mamie Bappe on Nov. 8, 1920, in Friberg Township, he farmed in Aurdal Township. From 1923 to 1942, he operated a blacksmith shop in Friberg Township. He later returned to farming in Aurdal Township until retiring in 1970. His wife died June 27, 1980.

Mr. Buchholz served on the Friberg Township and School Board and in various boards and committees in his church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. LeRoy (Marjorie) Brenaman of Fergus Falls; four sons, Lloyd of Phoenix, Ariz,, and Everett, Howard and Irvin, all of Fergus Falls; 20 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Emma Schoening of Fergus Falls.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls and resume at the church one hour prior to services Wednesday.
