Helen was a 1934 graduate of Waterville high school and attended Davis Business college. She worked various office jobs till getting married in 1941 at Waterville United Methodist Church. Her only child Frankie was severely handicapped and from the time he was born in 1948 until he was put in a home for handicapped children in 1966 she was a full time caregiver to him. Afterwards she went to work for the village of Waterville as a book keeper. She also worked for the Ford dealer as a book keeper. She suffered a stroke and was forced into retirement. She died in 1989 in North Carolina. She had traveled there with her sister Betty Becker to visit her niece Jodie Abbott at Thanksgiving. She had a heart attack the first night there and spent the rest of November and Dec in the hospital until succumbing to a urinary tract infection that went septic on the 28th of Dec. Helen was an athlete in High School being a strong swimmer. She was the most trusting person you could imagine and could not find fault in anyone no matter how they tried to use her. She dealt with her sorrows relating to her son by escaping in reading.
