Hannah Buchanan Acker
(October 24, 1914 - March 6, 2006)

ANDERSON – Hannah Buchanan Acker, 91, of 107 Perpetual Square Drive, widow of Frederick G. Acker, died Monday, March 6, 2006 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born October 24, 1914 in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Hershel R. and Janie Bishop Buchanan. She was a homemaker, a member of the NCHA Camping Club, and was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Acker Edwards and her husband George B. Edwards of Anderson; two grandchildren, Rick Edwards and his wife Lori Edwards of Anderson, and Betsy Foster and her husband Don R. Foster of Simpsonville; four great grandchildren; one brother, Hershel H. Buchanan and his wife Virginia Buchanan of Anderson; sister-in-law, Betty A. McCoy and her husband Charles McCoy of Honea Path; several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at New Silver Brook Cemetery conducted by Dr. William R. Childs. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel. The family is at the home of Mary and George Edwards, 301 Devon Way, Anderson.

Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church, 515 South McDuffie Street, Anderson, SC 29624.
