Henry O. Bubel, 81, South Landing, died Monday at Genesis HealthCare, Watertown.
Mr. Bubel lived at Rochester until 1954, at Sandy Creek from 1954 to 1977 and at Largo, Fla., from 1977 until moving to Ellisburg in 1992.
He operated Bubel's Sandy Pond Inlet marina for 23 years and was a floral distributor and decorator for Sibley's and McCurdy's in Rochester. He also owned a secondhand-furniture store in Rochester for many years.
He was a member of Sandy Creek Masonic Lodge, Shriners Media Temple, Watertown, the Society for the Preservation and Education of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, the Islander Chorus, Watertown, and the Sun Coast Chorus, St. Petersburg, Fla.
Born Dec. 4, 1916, in Rochester, son of Albert and Catherine Nau Bubel, he attended Holy Family School and West High School, both in Rochester.
He married Geraldine Grimshaw on Jan. 18, 1936.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Gail A. Pearl, Pulaski, and Marilyn B. Matthews, Ellisburg; two sons, Henry L., Syracuse, and Lawrence H., Chicago, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandson.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Douglas Decker, pastor of St. Cecilia's Church, Adams, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.
