Jessie Briggs, 95, of Washington, died Thursday, March 21, 2002, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington.

She was born April 1, 1906, in Eighty Four, a daughter of William H. and Elizabeth Flowers Bryner.

Mrs. Briggs was a member of the First Christian Church in Washington.

She graduates from Linden High School and attended Washington Business College. Mrs. Briggs was a cashier at the Basle Theater in Washington.

Her husband, Russell E. Briggs, died in 1959.

Surviving is four sons, Raymond H. of West Mifflin, Russell H. and Glenn, both of North Carolina, and James W. of Ohio; two daughters, Geraldine A. Magee of Reno, Nev., and Doris Gene Gay of Felton; a brother, Wesley Bryner of Florida; 23 grandchildren; 30 greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two daughters, Frances Elizabeth and Gayle M. King; and three brothers and a sister.

Friends of Jessie Briggs of Washington, who died Thursday, March 21, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Piatt & Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 25, with Pastor Paul Leone officiating.

Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a charity of one's choice.
