Nannie Bryant Allen, 90, Campton, died Monday Oct. 29 after an extended
illness.
Mrs. Allen was born in Wolfe County, a daughter of the late Dudley
Bryant and Margaret Taulbee Bryant. She was a retired school teacher
with 30 years of service, the wife of the late Jim Allen, a member of
the Bear Pen Community Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for
several years.
Surviving are two daughters, Thelma Drake and Mayo Bowman both of
Campton; three sons, Victor Allen, Campton, Austin Allen, Middletown,
Ohio; James Allen Jr., Winchester; one sister, Omah Spencer, Hazard,
fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the Shackelford Funeral Home with
Rev. Dorothy Spencer and Rev. Terry Will officiating. Burial in the
Evans Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers were: Mike, Jack and Junior Allen, John, Raymond,
Robert, and Dale Bryant.
