Amelia Jane Bledsoe, 91, of West Lafayette, died at 4:10 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 2010, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 7, 1918 in Newbern, Tennessee to Rueben Alexander and Minnie Avery Rodgers Bryant. On Oct. 8, 1942, she married Dr. Harry James Bledsoe, and he preceded her in death on May 12, 1971.
Surviving are a daughter, Harriet Hinkle (husband: the Rev. Marvin Hinkle) of Decatur; a son, Harry James Bledsoe (wife: Jean) of Russiaville; brothers, Charles Burton Bryant (wife: Mildred) of Camden, Tennessee and Dr. Joe Frank Bryant (wife: Patricia) of Lebanon, Tennessee; grandchildren, James Hinkle, Brandon Bledsoe (wife: Jamie), Amelia Davis, Katherine Bledsoe and Nickolas Bledsoe; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Bryson and Briley Bledsoe, Levi Jr., Makayla and Shylah Davis and Eve Bledsoe and a sister-in-law, Geneva Bryant of Caruthersville, Tennesee.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Dr. William O. Bryant and a sister, Dora Dean Bryant.
