Mrs. Mildred Virginia Bryant Alford, age 90 of 26 Poplar Street, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011 at her residence.

A daughter of the late James Carl and Florabelle Duncan Bryant, she was born June 15, 1921 in Galax, Virginia having lived most of her life in Virginia and North Carolina and the last eight years in Toccoa. She was employed with the textile industry for a number of years. She was a Member of Collins Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Georgia [sic] Alford in March, 2011.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Grover Hallum of Toccoa, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law Rodger and Erie Macy of Savannah, Georgia; grandchildren Darren and Cheryl Macy, TJ and Sarah Hallum and Tim Hallum, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Thursday, October 13, 11 o'clock AM at the Toccoa City Cemetery with The Reverend Todd Lyda officiating.

The family will be at the home on Poplar Street and will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, 10 AM until the service time....

Interment will follow in Toccoa City Cemetery with Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Mildred Virginia Bryant Alford....
